HOLLIE STRASBURG – Studio Owner
Moving to Utah at a young age, Hollie quickly acquired an appreciation for an active lifestyle. As an outdoor enthusiast, Hollie enjoys a variety of activities including hiking, biking, running and golf. While attending the University of Utah where she received a Bachelors of Finance, Hollie starting practicing Pilates to compliment her sports training and help stay balanced. Always on the hunt for an effective total body workout, Hollie was introduced to Xtend Barre and was instantly hooked. Xtend Barre is the perfect mix of Pilates, dance and cardio all in a 55 min workout. As a mat Pilates and Xtend Barre certified instructor, Hollie is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring the first Xtend Barre studio to the Salt Lake City community and to share her passion and enthusiasm for fitness with her clients.
KERI MCGUIRE – Co-Owner/Instructor
Keri is a Southern California native and active mother of two. Fitness and exercise have always played a huge role in her life. She grew up studying ballet and loved the grace and posture that it taught her at a young age. Keri danced and cheered throughout her high school years and then became an avid golfer while attending the University of Utah where she received her B.S. in Finance. After years of practicing Pilates and becoming mat Pilates certified, she was introduced to Xtend Barre® and instantly knew it was what she wanted to be a part of. “I am a true believer in this technique and am so excited to have the opportunity to introduce Xtend Barre® to my community. It truly is a total package, combining dance, pilates and cardio into a life-changing, body-altering 55 minutes workout.”
Keri is now the proud owner of 3 Xtend Barre studios and is the Director of Business Development for the Xtend Barre franchise.
CHER JOLLEY - Instructor
With over 12 years of experience Cher has extensive knowledge, certifications, and know-how necessary to instruct individuals and help them realize their fitness potential. She is passionate about fitness and she possesses that extra quality that makes teachers truly great. She understands the anxiety and discomfort that can sometimes manifest when beginning a new fitness regimen, but those feelings are instantly melted away once you take one of her classes. She has the ability to relate to people and her friendliness shows through in each class she teaches. You come as a participant but soon are a new friend. She has helped numerous clients increase their confidence and change their bodies while helping them realize the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Cher not only lives by what she teaches, she inspires everyone around her to be positive, work harder, and push a little further.
STEPHANIE WILLEY- Lululemon Ambassador
A Salt Lake City native, Stephanie grew up being very active in sports ranging from skiing and snowboarding to competitive soccer, dance, cheer leading, drill team, track and field, and horseback riding. After graduating from the University of Utah where she majored in Broadcasting, she moved to Los Angeles to work in entertainment news at the E! Channel and fell in love with her new hobby, Pilates. She certified in the SPX Fitness method of Pilates and brought to Utah the amped up style of reformer Pilates she loves. Years later she was introduced and quickly became addicted to TRX Suspension Training. She became certified as a group trainer in San Francisco where TRX was founded and not long after that came across Xtend Barre. Growing up studying ballet and dancing in the Nutcracker for many years as a child she finally found a workout that fused her passions together, ballet and Pilates!
KENDRA PHIPPS - Instructor
Kendra, a California Native, has been a professional performer for over 15 years and has taught and choreographed dance for over 14 years. After finishing a National Musical Tour, being an avid outdoor enthusiast, she settled in Salt Lake City. Searching for a new and fresh way to stay active in the fitness world while keeping dance closely involved, she was introduced to Xtend Barre. A total body workout involving both a dance and Pilates background, she absolutely fell in love with this workout and it’s results. Kendra has a passion for teaching and is excited to be a part of Xtend Barre SLC, and most importantly in helping others achieve their personal best. See you at the barre!
JENNY LARSEN - Lululemon Ambassador
Jenny has been personal training and teaching group fitness classes for 17 years now and thoroughly enjoys getting everyone moving. Jenny loves to be with people and teach all different formats of fitness from Pilates to Spinning, Hip-hop to CrossFit, Kickbox to Muscle Pump and now Xtend Barre! Anything to get your heart pumping. Jenny earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Modern Dance from the University of Utah. Her love of dance and performing has also helped her compete in fitness competitions earning titles of Ms. Fitness Utah, Gold and Silver medals in The National Aerobics Championships and 1st place in ESPN2 Fitness America. She has also danced professionally with RawMoves and currently dances with SB Dance. In addition to her Xtend Barre certification, Jenny is an NASM and ACE certified personal trainer, CrossFit certified trainer, STOTT Pilates Instructor, Dietmasters Nutrition Coach and CHEK Institute Medicine Ball coach.
KRISTEN MOSS - Instructor
Kristen is originally from Southern California but relocated at a young age to Park City, UT. She grew up with a love for dancing, which grew into a passion for cheerleading, stunting and gymnastics. While attending college at the University of Utah Kristen worked for Universal Cheerleading Association teaching high school cheerleaders across the Western United States. Kristen continued through college to choreograph for local high schools. She has continued her active life through Pilates, TRX, snowboarding, wakeboarding, golf and running. Kristen is thrilled to be a part of the Xtend Barre team, and share this unique workout with Salt Lake.
RAQUEL GOODSELL - Instructor
Raqi is a born and raised Utah native. She has over 21 years of dance experience which includes Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap, and Contemporary. She has danced coast to coast as a professional dancer with some of the biggest names in the industry. She currently teaches at The Dance Club in Orem and Dance Impressions in Bountiful Utah. She has a great passion for dance and fitness and is excited to be a part of the Xtend Barre team.
Shelbey Peterson - Instructor
A Utah native, Shelbey developed a lifelong love of dance at a young age and trained for more than 18 years in ballet, jazz, and hip hop. She had the privilege of performing in the 2002 Olympic Closing Ceremonies as a member of the Full Force Dance Company, and later at the 2004 Fiesta Bowl with the University of Utah Crimson Line. After college she stayed active by taking classes in yoga, pilates and zumba, and was thrilled to discover the perfect combination of dance and fitness in Xtend Barre. Shelbey can’t wait to share her passion for movement and dance as part of the Xtend Barre SLC team!
Corinne Penka - Instructor
Corinne Penka graduated in 2005 with a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah. She has since worked with a number of local dance and theater artists (including SBdance, Pygmalion Productions, and My Turkey Sandwich), and is currently dancing and performing with both Rawmoves and Movement Forum. Corinne is also a dance specialist with Tanner Dance's Arts in Education program, a PE and dance teacher at Judge Memorial Catholic High School, and a personal trainer at iRock Fitness. When not dancing like a fiend or teaching kids to move like molten lava, she is usually sipping coffee for hours, gettin' her yoga on, running madly on some mountain trail, enjoying the company of dear friends, and trying to put a dent in the massive pile of books by her bedside.
Megan Corrent - Instructor
A Utah native, Megan has had a love of dance and movement from a young age. She has over 18 years of dance experience in ballet and several years of jazz, hip hop and modern dance experience. Megan spent time dancing on the Gonzaga Dance Team and continues her active lifestyle through kickboxing, jogging and of course Xtend Barre. She has a graduate degree in business and works for an international consulting firm for her day job, but would rather spend her days at Xtend Barre feeling the burn.
